New Artist! Catherine Rowe
CATHERINE ROWE - I am delighted to introduce my newest artist, British designer Catherine Rowe. Luxuriously playful in every detail, her exuberant illustrations marry tradition with contemporary style. Catherine Rowe studied Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She works in the unusual medium of scraperboard and her notable client list includes Anthropologie, Museums & Galleries, Cocoon Home, Lagom Design, Paperchase, The National Trust, and Liberty Fabrics. As an artist myself, my focus is on creative collaborations and we are developing new work all the time. Catherine Rowe has already created some impressive new work to delight art buyers and publishers including a personal piece inspired by the Yann Martel novel “The Life of Pi”. It’s a pleasure to welcome Catherine to my team.

Catherine Rowe won the Liberty Open Call in 2018 to create a new iconic Liberty fabric design. Her winning design Palace Gardens, inspired by English charm, was released online and in-store in 2019. It has become a modern classic.
What do you love about using scraperboard as your technique? "I love scraper board because it mimics the effects of engraving without the lengthy process of equipment. It gives a unique result when combined with digital colouring. I was immediately hooked!"
