New Artist! Abby Jacobs

Abby Jacobs

We are welcoming our NEW artist Abby Jacobs

Abby works mainly in hand-painted gouache and has a penchant for  lush patterned florals and patchworks. With a sparkling sense of colour and an experimental illustrative touch.

I have worked closely with Abby Jacobs over the past few years in my capacity as mentor and creative educator - I have always admired Abby’s playful approach and clear passion for colour.

“When I first met Jehane, I instantly felt a connection with her. She is so warm and lovely! I appreciated the feedback she gave in my portfolio review in 2019. Her words stayed with me for years".

It's an absolute pleasure to welcome Abby to the family!

Abby writes:

“When I first met Jehane, I instantly felt a connection with her. She is so warm and lovely! I appreciated the feedback she gave in our one-on-one session and her words stayed with me for years.

“She is so busy yet finds the time to be so supportive of artists, which really means a lot. Then after taking her course, Your Creative Gold, I learned even more from her.

“She creates such beautiful mood boards and prompts – I’ve been loving participating in her Golden Thread prompts each week as I am able. Jehane’s artists are all so incredibly talented!”

“I want to see my work on more products and develop a brand that is recognizable and sought after. I would also like to include donating to matters close to my heart as part of my business plan. (I know this is a lofty goal but it seems to be the only kind of goal I set for myself!)”

Which kind of work do you enjoy doing the most?

“I really love it all but pairing a floral pattern with a geometric pattern makes my heart sing. I also love creating scenes with tons of details – these will keep me inspired for weeks thinking about what more to add.”

If you hadn’t been an artist, what would you have been?

“If we are taking art completely out of the picture, I think I would be working with teens, maybe in a school setting- maybe a high school guidance counselor.”
