This week I met up with Bonnie Christine.
I was honoured to receive an invitation as a guest speaker for Bonnie’s awesome mentorship programme.
We came together this week and it was so much fun! Bonnie invited me to take her students behind-the-scenes and talk about what it's like (for an artist) to work with an Agent. I have benefitted from being represented by agents myself. This experience showed me that every Agent is different - each of the relationships I had with my agents was unique. All were positive, active, and bore significant fruit in my career.
My own approach as an agent is an extension of my sensibilities as an artist.
Have you ever been curious what qualities I look for in an artist? Bonnie asked me this question too. We had a wonderful hour with some really great questions! A lot of questions were about advice for emerging artists and whether we at Jehane Ltd ONLY work with established artists.
Do I only work with established artists? My answer is maybe not what you would expect...

💚 A passionate attention to detail.
✏️ A strong quality of line and a sparkling sense of colour.
🌻 Authenticity and individuality - reflected both in the strength of your personal approach AND a recognisable style.
🌞 I love to work with artists who are interested in extending themselves - no matter what stage they are at in their career.
🎨 It is the QUALITY and keen personal intent of WHAT you do which I value most (*not* how established or unestablished you are).
One of the KEY aspects I value is the importance of bringing your own voice into your work. Stories are a key part to sharing your voice and a brilliant way of getting your work out there in a meaningful way.
